Materials

For speed and convenience regularly used materials are
stored on the main materials library file, which can be accessed when
required throughout the system

Each item is given a stock code, description, category type (e.g. Timber),
unit
of measure (e.g. m3), current cost and estimating unit rates and wastage
percentage rate. The waste rate allocated to each material can be adjusted for
each job or estimate.
In order to keep the main file as small as possible any
materials that are unique to certain jobs or estimates can be stored in a
special materials file associated with each job or estimate.
A surface coatings file for paint and wood stain finishes
etc. can be established with a choice of material rates and application times on
a m2 basis. The user specifies the components that are to be coated and WOODMAN
automatically calculates the component surface area and applies the cost and
application rates accordingly.
